a Chicago home's stunning kitchen and bath update

as featured in architectural digest

In the fast-paced world we live in, it’s essential to have a space where you can unwind, relax, and find your inner peace. That’s why we are thrilled to share an inspiring article from Architectural Digest that showcases a Chicago home's stunning kitchen and bath update, featuring our Assana bathtub painted in Duck Egg. This exquisite creation has recently captured the attention of Architectural Digest, and we couldn't be prouder.

When homeowners Kristen and Conor Quinn collaborated with interior design studio Unpatterned, they had differing visions for their new bathroom aesthetic. Kristen dreamed of a colorful, warm, and clean space, while Conor leaned towards an industrial, cold, and minimal style. Luckily, Kristen's wishes prevailed, and the result is a magnificent blend of color, warmth, and cleanliness that will ignite your own creative ideas.

The Pinterest board they sent us had very colorful kitchens and baths mixed with natural materials, so we just went for it from there!

Carly Moeller, the founder and principal of Unpatterned, took inspiration from the couple's passion for nature and their love of national parks, woods, and mountains. Drawing from this, Unpatterned embraced a bold approach, infusing colors into the bathroom renovation to create an imaginative and captivating atmosphere.

One of the standout features of this bathroom remodel is the Assana bathtub painted in Duck Egg. With its graceful curves and soothing hue, this stunning centerpiece adds an element of tranquility and elegance to the space. The Architectural Digest article showcases the "before and after" transformation, showcasing the remarkable impact the Assana bathtub has on the overall design.

But the beauty doesn't stop there. Unpatterned paid attention to every detail, incorporating unique touches such as periwinkle-hued tiles in the secondary bathroom and a combination of a broken joint marble mosaic and blue handmade zellige tiles in the primary bathroom. The vanities, crafted with natural grain wood, seamlessly blend with the surroundings, letting the vibrant tiles shine.

The article also highlights the kitchen renovation, where Unpatterned brought alpine cheer by painting the cabinetry in a deep teal color. This bold choice is perfectly balanced with clean lines and minimalistic elements, staying true to the couple's vision.

One of the most charming additions to the renovated space is a cozy breakfast nook. Formerly a throwaway corner, it was transformed with the help of vibrant floral wallpaper and a delightful gumball-like pendant, creating an eclectic and inviting atmosphere for the family.
